3IA Côte d'Azur, supported by Université Côte d'Azur, is to be continued for the period 2022-2023 with a budget increase of €3 million

In March 2022, Université Côte d'Azur received a visit from an international jury composed of high-ranking personalities from the academic and industrial sectors whose mission was to evaluate at mid-point the actions carried out by the 3IA Côte d'Azur Institute. The jury thus expressed a very favorable opinion for the continuation of the project.

The 3IA Côte d'Azur Institute has therefore been confirmed in its missions for the period 2022-2023, and was awarded an additional €3M by the French government under the France 2030 program on the recommendation of the international jury. This additional funding will enable the Institute to strengthen its existing programs and to launch new initiatives to benefit the ecosystem. The €8M grant from France 2030 for the EFELIA Côte d'Azur project submitted by the 3IA Côte d'Azur team will also help develop AI training over the next five years.

In its report, the jury underlines in particular the quality of research work in the Institute’s four areas of application, a growing number of publications (585 to date), including a significant proportion of interdisciplinary publications, all supported by solid and varied industrial collaborations.

In addition, support for the creation and development of startups was appreciated by the jury, who also noted the innovative nature of the “3IA Techpool” (pool of engineers, experts in Data Sciences and AI) and the importance of the Institute’s relations with local organizations.

A rich AI training program
The jury appreciated the richness of the AI training program, which can be adapted to several levels of learning, as well as the institute's academic network, which extends to national and international partners.
