EFELIA Côte d’Azur becomes the education and training branch of 3IA Côte d'Azur, building on the programs developed in the last four years.

3IA Côte d’Azur has been awarded the EFELIA Côte d'Azur project as a result of the submission to the national call "Skills and Professions of the Future" (CMA) of the France 2030 program (led jointly by the National Research Agency (ANR) and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation). This is a major component for the national strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) training. EFELIA stands for "Ecole Française de l'Intelligence Artificielle" (French School of Artificial Intelligence), the project is a joint response from the 4 3IA institutes in France and it aims to scale AI education and  training in France at every level (specialist or interdisciplinary, (bac-3 to bac+8 and professional training). EFELIA Côte d’Azur becomes the education and training branch of 3IA Côte d'Azur, building on the programs developed in the last four years and scaling up the impact of 3IA Côte d’Azur to strengthen the territory's dynamics in AI.
Université Côte d'Azur leads the project with the EFELIA Côte d'Azur consortium partners: Inria, CNRS, Inserm, EURECOM and SKEMA Business School.

For more information on the implementation of the project, read the following interview :
Charles Bouveyron, Professor of Applied Mathematics and Director of the 3IA Côte d'Azur institute, and Lucile Sassatelli, Professor of Computer Science and Scientific Director of EFELIA Côte d'Azur, present this important and ambitious project for training in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Many actions already carried out since the launch of EFELIA Côte d'Azur.
  • Opening of new minors at the start of the 2023 academic year
These first months of starting the project gave rise to the co-construction, with the University’s Graduate Schools (EUR) and associate components, of minors adapted to the discipline. This effective collaboration will allow the opening of 6 new minors in Artificial Intelligence applied to the discipline in September 2023 (more explanations on the work methodology in the previous interview).
  • Feedback on the training of MIA mediators
The training was given by Lucile Sassatelli, Professor of Computer Science and Scientific Director of EFELIA Côte d'Azur, to the whole team of the MIA, over 2 intense sessions on the 12th and the 14th April.
The EFELIA Côte d'Azur project includes a whole section of awareness and acculturation to AI for the general public. This work fits perfectly with the actions already carried out by the MIA. Currently, many of the MIA's mediation materials have been developed with teachers from the 3IA Côte d'Azur Institute. EFELIA Côte d'Azur is a continuation of the exchanges already established between the Université Côte d'Azur and the MIA, the training provided to mediators has enabled the transmission of a solid basis of teaching in AI and to strengthen their knowledge of the field.
  • A training catalog for companies will soon be available
The EFELIA Côte d'Azur team is currently working on the creation of a training catalog for companies. It should be available for diffusion in June 2023. For those interested in this offer, you can contact us: violette.assati@univ-cotedazur.fr
