Charles Bouveyron is the new Director of the Institute. Professor in Statistics at the Université Côte d'Azur and head of the Inria research team MAASAI, he was the former Deputy Scientific Director. His experience in the UCA ecosystem and his expertise in the field of artificial intelligence make him the first point of contact for both the academic world and companies.

In addition, Serena Villata took over the duties of Charles Bouveyron. She is a researcher in Computer Science at CNRS in the Informatics, Signals and Systems laboratory of Sophia Antipolis (I3S). She has been appointed Deputy Scientific Director and also joins the Scientific Council of 3IA.
The position of Scientific Director is still held by Nicholas Ayache, Inria’s outstanding class Research Director and holder of the 3IA Chair "AI for e-patients and e-medicine".

The scientific animation by axis is strengthened with the appointment of thematic leaders. Axis 1 “Core elements of AI” is led by the new Deputy Scientific Director, Serena Villata. Hervé Delingette, director of research at Inria, is the head of axis 2 “AI for integrative computational medicine”. Laure Blanc-Féraud, CNRS Research Director at the I3S Laboratory, is in charge of axis 3 “AI for computational biology and bio-inspired AI”. Finally, Pierre Alliez, Research Director at Inria, is responsible for Axis 4 “AI for smart and secure territories”.
