HIGHLIGHT OF THE EVENT
Visit of Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Telecommunications.
The Minister, who opened the WAICF, began his booth visit with the 3IA Côte d'Azur booth on which were represented the member institutions of the consortium as well as the 4 French institutes 3IA. Jean-Noël Barrot was introduced to the activities of the Institute and its objectives in terms of research, training, innovation and attractiveness.
The Minister also appreciated the coordination of the 3IA network (which includes 3IA Côte d'Azur, ANITI Toulouse, MIAI Grenoble, and PRAIRIE Paris).
RESEARCH
Talks by our 3IA chair holders
Patricia Reynaud-Bouret (CNRS) - Research Director and Director of the NeuroMod Institute, CNRS Silver Medal, and 3IA chair holder - gave a keynote presentation on the topic: Could we simulate a brain on a laptop?
Maria A. Zuluaga (EURECOM) - Assistant Professor and 3IA chair holder - took part in a panel discussion: Do we need to go beyond Deep Learning?
PARTNERSHIPS & INNOVATION
A program full of demos
The 3IA Techpool team was present throughout the Festival to present the different demos they are working on: DeepWILD, DISPUTool, Indago...
This year, EURECOM also joined us with a wide variety of demos: "Autonomous flying robots for sensing and connectivity", "AI for health: Using AI to identify stress from wearable devices data" and many others.
“Rendez-vous des start-ups”
Sequoia (3IA Côte d’Azur), Qiti (3IA Côte d’Azur), Co-Incidence (SKEMA Business School), Skyld (Inria), and Nodeus (Inria) were invited to pitch on the 3IA Côte d'Azur booth and showcase their innovative project.
WebCrow Crossword Challenge
A challenge against AI? It was made possible with the WebCrow CrossWord challenge in which the participants could play against WebCrow, an AI technology for crossword solving designed by Pr. Marco Gori, 3IA international chair holder, and his team members in partnership with the company expert.ai.
AI & Companies Week Results
In front of a large and curious audience, our PhD students presented the solutions they found after a week of teamwork on real-world mathematical problems. Many thanks to our industrial partners who proposed topics and joined us to present their company.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
The training team and PhD students were on hand to answer all questions about the Institute's training offers.
Aurélie Delort, 3IA Operational Director of Training, took part in the MIA round table "Formations IA : des réponses aux besoins et exigences du marché".
Nissim Maruani, 3IA PhD student, also participated in the round table "Formations IA dans le 06"organised by the "Maison de l'Intelligence Artificielle" (MIA).
