Pierre Monnin, Junior Fellow in AI, joined Université Côte d'Azur in September.
We asked Pierre to introduce himself:
My name is Pierre Monnin, and I am excited to embark on my journey as a Junior Fellow in AI with EFELIA Côte d’Azur.
I graduated from TELECOM Nancy, a French engineering school, in 2015. Afterward, I began my career as a Software Developer at Swiss AviationSoftware in Switzerland.
My passion for knowledge and scientific challenges led me to pursue a PhD at Université de Lorraine. During my doctoral studies, I focused on knowledge graph refinement and mining with a neuro-symbolic perspective. In December 2020, I successfully defended my thesis and received the Best Thesis Award from the French association EGC (Knowledge Extraction and Engineering).
Following my PhD, I worked at Orange for three years, where I continued my research on knowledge graph lifecycle and neuro-symbolic AI, leading ECLADATTA and participating in AT2TA, two French national research projects.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge about AI to a broad audience within EFELIA, and developing my research on knowledge graphs and neuro-symbolic AI within the WIMMICS team (Université Côte d'Azur, Inria, CNRS, I3S).
Welcome to 3IA - EFELIA Côte d'Azur!
