Legal perspective on AI regulation

On November 3 and 4, 2025, the 3IA Côte d'Azur Chair "Economic Law and AI" invites you to an event sponsored by Professor Karim Benyekhlef, Faculty of Law at the University of Montreal and Director of the Cyberjustice Laboratory.

In early 2025, the Ministry of Justice launched studies on the integration of artificial intelligence to modernize justice, while ensuring the regulation and security of its applications.

Questions arise about the robustness of the rules governing AI systems, as the AI regulation has just been integrated into the European legal framework.

In an unstable geopolitical context, without international consensus on regulation, and faced with intense competition in AI markets, have we grasped all the issues involved in introducing AI into public justice?

On November 3 and 4, panels of speakers will share their thoughts on the impact and regulation of AI internationally. The implications of AI-assisted dispute resolution will be explored during a dedicated roundtable discussion.

The Chair "Economic Law and AI" is headed by Professor Marina Teller, 3IA Chairholder and faculty researcher responsible for the DL4T scientific program.

Recently awarded a 3IA Côte d'Azur International Chair, Karim Benyekhlef will continue his collaboration with Marina Teller through a dedicated visit scheduled for Spring 2026. 3IA Côte d'Azur will benefit from his expertise for collaborative research, particularly on the following topics:

Mapping regulatory approaches to AI worldwide;
Algorithmic auditability;
Justice for virtual and augmented realities;
Justice bots.
