Advancing real-world AI

The overall objective of the institute is to advance real-world AI, with applications for health and smart territories.

There is a growing need from scientists, companies and the general public for versatile and interpretable AI algorithms.

There are common scientific bottlenecks across our application domains that we intend to address in a fundamental and collaborative manner.

For instance, making decisions based on small or heterogeneous datasets is pervasive in medicine and biology, while learning from non-structured data is a growing concern in medicine and smart territories, both issues give rise to difficult theoretical problems.
