Education & Training
The training branch of 3IA Côte d'Azur
The 3IA Côte d'Azur's EFELIA project has been awarded a major grant as part of the France 2030 programme's "Skills and Professions of the Future" call for projects. EFELIA is an acronym for "Ecole Française de l'AI" (French School of AI) and its aim is to significantly expand AI education in France. Université Côte d'Azur, the project coordinator, is implementing the project in collaboration with the EFELIA Côte d'Azur consortium partners: Inria, CNRS, Inserm, EURECOM and SKEMA Business School.
In order to speed up the implementation of training courses to prepare for the need for AI jobs and skills, the network of four 3IA institutes is proposing a coordinated programme with the ultimate aim of creating a French AI School with the following missions:
- Strengthening and creating AI modules for all disciplines
- Creating shared learning content (MOOCs, SPOCs)
- Continuing training and lifelong learning
- Setting up a calculation and data platform
- Scientific mediation
Scientific perspective
- The EFELIA project is based on modern AI, i.e. a range of methodological advances in computer science and statistics that are having a growing impact on different scientific disciplines (natural sciences, humanities and social sciences), different economic fields and society as a whole.
- These advances come with a number of scientific, societal and environmental challenges:
- Fairness: data collection and quality, privacy, bias (sexist, racist), etc.
- Responsibility: European regulation (EU AI Act) and research and innovation practices
- Transparency: opacity of models and the need for interpretability, traceability of biases and consideration in the final tools.
- EFELIA is here to :
- enable us to grasp these advances in each discipline and theme,
- understand the limits and challenges of current techniques.
