This summer, three 3IA Chairholders had the privilege to contribute to the organization of the 32nd Summer Working Group on Model-Based Clustering, which took place at the Inria Centre of Université Côte d’Azur.

A bit of history: Working Group on Applied, Bayesian and Computational Statistics

This working group historically met weekly on Fridays at 9am in University of Washington, Seattle (USA). It was formerly called “Working Group on Model-Based Clustering”, and met under that name from 1995 to 2006.
The summer sessions of the working group are still called "Working Group on Model-Based Clustering," and are now held in different locations.

This year, it has been held at Université Côte d’Azur, and more precisely at Inria Centre of Université Côte d’Azur, in Sophia Antipolis.

The scientific committee consists this year of Luca Scrucca (Full Professor, University of Bologna), Charles Bouveyron (3IA Director and Chairholder, Full Professor, Université Côte d’Azur), Gilles Celeux (Research Director, Inria), Bettina Grün (Assistant Professor at WU Vienna), Brendan Murphy (Professor at University College Dublin), Rebecca Nugent (Professor at Carnegie Mellon University), Adrian Raftery (Professor at University of Washington), Cinzia Viroli (Professor, University of Bologna), Pierre-Alexandre Mattei (3IA Chairholder, Research Scientist at Inria), Marco Corneli (Junior Professor at Université Côte d’Azur), and Vincent Vandewalle (3IA Chairholder, Professor at Université Côte d’Azur).
