Nicholas Ayache main speaker at the new French Academy of Surgery session
New session of the French Academy of Surgery.
During this session dedicated to "Extended reality in surgery", Nicholas Ayache (3IA Chairholder, Research Director at INRIA, Member of the Academy of Sciences, and Free Member of the National Academy of Surgery) will deliver a keynote titled " Artificial intelligence, digital twin & extended reality in medicine and surgery".
Abstract:
Recent advances in AI are revolutionizing the use of medical images, whether for their analysis, registration, synthesis, or fusion with other medical data. These advances contribute to the development of the patient's digital twin, which is a virtual and dynamic representation of their anatomy and physiology. The digital twin, by enriching the practitioner's vision, allows for better guidance of diagnosis and then the potentially robotic intervention. I will illustrate these different points with recent applications in several medical and surgical disciplines.
