On Tuesday June 3, Kilian Bürgi had the great opportunity to present his PhD research project CleverFish with a demo developed by Stéphane Petiot on the occasion of the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).

The aim of this project is to build a bridge between artificial intelligence and marine biologists/ecologists.

"We created a easy-to-use, autonomous and fully automated pipeline to help generate ecological data that can be used for conservation efforts and will allow laboratories with limited resources able to valorise their data fully. Time and effort used for video analysis will be much shorter, which allows the marine biologists to re-direct their efforts to the final goal of for example establishment of marine protected areas", Kilian Bürgi explains.

For his presentation, Kilian Bürgi, PhD student working with Charles Bouveyron, 3IA Côte d’Azur Director, and Cecile Sabourault, Laboratoire ECOSEAS Director, used a demo specifically developed by Stéphane Petiot, 3IA Techpool Full Stack Engineer.
