Samuel Vaiter (CNRS, LJAD)
Short bio
Samuel Vaiter is a CNRS researcher at the interface of mathematics and computer science. His current host lab is the Laboratoire J. A. Dieudonné of Université Côte d’Azur in Nice. His research interests cover in particular the mathematical foundation of machine learning, especially linked to optimization. He is currently an Area Chair for NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR and AISTATS, and the PI of the ANR project MAD "Mathematics of Automatic Differentiation".
Research topic | Bilevel optimization for graph learning (BOGL)
The goal of the project BOGL is to bring together the methodology of bilevel optimization and graph machine learning. We seek to develop new algorithms to handle task on graphs such as graph classification, link prediction, community detection, taking into account the non-euclidean aspects of the data.
