Nicholas Ayache, 3IA Côte d'Azur Scientific Director and Chairholder, and Marc-Olivier Gauci, 3IA Côte d’Azur Fellow, were invited speakers at the Digital Twin Day in Medicine organized by the French Academy of Medicine on June 19.

Throughout the day, experts from the academic, clinical and industrial sectors shared their vision and tried to address the following questions:
What do we really mean by 'digital twin'?
What are the stakes, benefits, limitations, and ethical, economic, and technical challenges?

Our 3IA researchers contributed with:

"Digital twins in general: Definition, characteristics, benefits - What is a digital twin? What is its place in medicine?" by Nicholas Ayache (contributing to the "Definition of the digital twin" section).

Panel participation in "Digital twins in the service of surgery" by Marc-Olivier Gauci, who shared his experience in preoperative planning for orthopedic surgery.
