Conférence l'IA pour les sciences
Some remarkable scientific advances, in many fields, have been made possible or greatly accelerated by the contribution of artificial intelligence (AI). This conference and its speakers from diverse backgrounds will help you discover, in accessible language, how these results were achieved, by combining AI with domain knowledge and the usual mathematical, statistical and computational approaches.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming our society and revolutionizing scientific research. In 2024, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry recognized AlphaFold, software capable of predicting protein structures using AI, a challenge that had remained unsolved for fifty years. And this is just one example: medicine, biology, physics, universe sciences, etc., advances are multiplying.
This conference offers the opportunity to discover, in accessible language, how AI complements traditional numerical approaches (modeling, computer science, mathematics, statistics) and opens up new perspectives. It will showcase the diversity of methods, their spectacular successes and their promises for the future. A gathering to understand, be inspired and imagine the future of science with AI — open to all research enthusiasts.
This conference is organized by Marie-Paule Cani, member of the Académie des sciences, professor at École Polytechnique, and Olivier Gascuel, member of the Académie des sciences, research director at CNRS.
Nicholas Ayache, member of the Académie des sciences and the Académie nationale de chirurgie, research director at the Inria center of Université Côte d'Azur and 3IA Côte d'Azur Chairholder, will speak at 2:00 PM on the theme "Artificial intelligence and medical imaging to guide medicine and surgery".
