Results of the Chairs 2023 call for applications

The AI Cluster labeling allows us to continue the excellence momentum of the 3IA Côte d'Azur 2023 project. As part of this initiative, we are strengthening our research team by integrating 4 new chairs and 3 new fellows. We have created the fellow status to complement the work of the 3IA chairs and to expand the Institute's scope with these associate researchers.

Their arrival follows a rigorous selection process conducted by an international jury and their recruitments were made in response of the call for applications for 2023 chairs.

We warmly welcome them and wish them great success in their work within the 3IA Côte d'Azur!
 

Meet the four new 3IA Chairholders

• Ezio Malis (Inria), Axis 4 (AI for Smart and Secure Territories) - Research topic: Autonomous robotic systems in dynamic and complex environments, including collaboration between robots and interaction with humans
• Emanuele Natale (CNRS), Axis 1 (Core elements of AI) - Research topic: Neural network sparsity and applications
• Paolo Papotti (EURECOM), Axis 1 (Core elements of AI) and Axis 4 (AI for Smart and Secure Territories) - Research topic: Large Language Models for structured data
• Samuel Vaiter (CNRS, LJAD), Axis 1 (Core elements of AI) - Research topic: Bilevel optimization for graph learning (BOGL)

Meet the three new 3IA Fellows

• Mathieu Carrière (Inria), Axis 1 (Core elements of AI) - Research topic: TopMoDaL: Multiparameter Topological Data Analysis for Machine Learning Models and Data Sets
• Marc-Olivier Gauci (Université Côte d’Azur, CHU de Nice), Axis 2 (AI for Integrative Computational Medicine) - Research topic: Global approach to research, development, and global deployment of digital solutions in surgery, with osteoarticular surgery and traumatology as a use case
• Frédéric Giroire (CNRS), Axis 1 (Core elements of AI) - Research topic: Integrating AI into network solutions: Exploring privacy, security, and energy efficiency in federated learning
