Visite des IIT au Pôle Alpha Sophia Antipolis organisée par 3IA Côte d'Azur
From Sophia Antipolis to the Bharat Innovates 2026 Summit in Nice, a shared ambition to build world-class partnerships in research, innovation, higher education, and industry.
Ahead of the Franco-Indian summit Bharat Innovates 2026 taking place in Nice, the AI Cluster 3IA Côte d'Azur had the honor of welcoming on June 12 an Indian delegation of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) led by the French Embassy in India. This high-level delegation was received alongside key stakeholders from the Sophia Antipolis innovation ecosystem and members of the French AI task force represented by the national network of AI Clusters.
We would like to warmly thank the Indian institutions for accepting the invitation, as well as our ecosystem partners Communauté Agglomération Sophia Antipolis, Fondation Sophia Antipolis, La Maison de l'IA, Aktantis, Pôle SAFE, Eurobiomed, La French Tech Côte d'Azur, Telecom Valley, Sophia Club Entreprises, Incubateur Provence-Côte d'Azur, and the AI Clusters network, for their active contribution to the success of this meeting.
▸ On Sunday June 14, 3IA Côte d’Azur took part in the opening ceremony of the Bharat Innovates summit as a member of the Université Côte d’Azur delegation led by President Jeanick Brisswalter.
On this occasion, President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between France and India, guided by a shared vision of artificial intelligence as a force for humanity and the common good, rather than merely an instrument of national power and competition; a vision deeply shared by AI Cluster 3IA Côte d’Azur.
▸ At the invitation of the City of Nice on Sunday evening, and then of CASA on June 15, the 3IA management also had the opportunity to meet with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal at the Alpha hub, for an exchange on ways to strengthen ties with Indian industry, higher education institutions, and innovation stakeholders.
As France and India strengthen their strategic partnership, these exchanges mark an important step toward a long-term collaboration driven by excellence, innovation, and a shared commitment to harnessing AI for the benefit of humanity.
Building on the strong academic, scientific, and innovation ties that Université Côte d’Azur and its partners have developed with India over many years, they pave the way for new joint initiatives in research, education, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and industrial cooperation.
