Welcome to the AI Cluster 3IA Côte d'Azur Médéric Boquien
Welcome to the AI Cluster 3IA Côte d'Azur Médéric Boquien

Médéric Boquien, Head of AI and Astrophysics Training, joined the AI Cluster 3IA Côte d'Azur in June to develop innovative AI education and training programs in collaboration with the AI Cluster's academic and industrial partners.

We asked Médéric to introduce himself:

I am Médéric Boquien, Professor of Physics and Astrophysics at Université Côte d'Azur, where I am leading the development of AI training initiatives in the field of Earth and Space Sciences.

After completing my Ph.D. at CEA Saclay on galaxy formation and evolution, I held postdoctoral positions at the University of Massachusetts (USA), the Laboratory of Astrophysics of Marseille (France), and the University of Cambridge (UK), before taking up faculty positions in Chile. I returned to France in 2023 as a Full Professor at Université Côte d'Azur.

Over the past several years, I have integrated AI techniques into my research while also developing innovative education and training programs. In particular, I led the design of a doctoral program in Astrophysics and Astroinformatics, providing young researchers with the knowledge and critical perspective needed to thrive in a scientific landscape increasingly shaped by AI.

I am delighted to join the AI Cluster 3AI Côte d'Azur, where I look forward to working closely with its academic and industrial partners to develop innovative AI education and training programs and help strengthen the region's position as a driving force for AI education and innovation in France and across Europe.

Welcome to the AI Cluster 3IA Côte d’Azur!
