Kick-off meeting et événement de lancement IA-cluster - 3IA Côte d'Azur
Yesterday, the 3IA Côte d'Azur teams welcomed representatives from the ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) and members of its ecosystem, including consortium management and staff, industrial council members, university laboratory directors, research chairs, and EUR leaders, for the kick-off meeting and launch event of the 3IA Côte d'Azur 2030 IA-cluster project.
Charles Bouveyron began with a comprehensive presentation summarizing the project's journey from 2019 to the present. Following this, Nicholas Ayache, Scientific Director, took the stage to outline the research axes and objectives of 3IA Côte d'Azur.
Diana Sebbar then detailed the project's steering procedures, management principles, and roadmap for 3IA Côte d'Azur 2030, presenting the overarching budgetary framework. This set the perfect stage for the ANR representatives, Julie Mussard and Philippe Tchamitchian, who emphasized the significance of obtaining the IA-cluster label. They elaborated on the comprehensive set of deliverables to be submitted in the coming months and highlighted the key evaluation principles for the project.
The participants were then joined by local elected officials, industrial ecosystem partners, and the Institute's PhD and postdoctoral students. They gathered to hear opening speeches from distinguished speakers, including Jean Leonetti (Mayor of Antibes and Chairman of Communauté d'agglomération de Sophia Antipolis), Emmanuel Roux (Deputy Rector for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), Jeanick Brisswalter (Chairman of Université Côte d'Azur), Bruno Sportisse (CEO of Inria) and Charles Bouveyron (3IA Côte d'Azur Director), as well as a video message from Bruno Bonnell (General Secretary for Investment, in charge of France 2030).
The official logo of the 3IA Côte d'Azur 2030 project, now awarded the IA-cluster label, was unveiled just before the official group photograph. The day concluded with an enjoyable cocktail reception, initially accompanied by music from a group of PhD students of the Institute, followed by performances by the band "Rage Against the Machine Learning" - featuring Marc Barret (Inria), Marco Lorenzi (Inria, 3IA Chairholder), and Maxime Sermesant (Inria, 3IA Chairholder).
All the 3IA Côte d'Azur teams would like to express their sincere thanks to Maureen Clerc (Director of the Inria Centre at Université Côte d'Azur) and her teams for making this event possible, as well as to the elected representatives, academic and industrial partners, local authority representatives, chairholders, researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students who took part to it, which marked the official start of the Institute's second season.
