Nicholas Ayache, Scientific Director of 3IA Côte d'Azur, today took part in the inauguration of the IHU RespirERA along with Hervé Delingette (3IA Chair Holder, in charge of the Medical Axis of the 3IA) and Pascal Barbry (3IA Chair Holder and scientific director of the IHU RespirERA).

The project, directed by Prof. Paul Hofman and spearheaded by Université Côte d'Azur, CHU de Nice, the INRIA center of Université Côte d'Azur, INSERM Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur - Corse and their partners, has just been selected as part of France 2030's "Instituts Hospitalo-Universitaires - IHU 3" call for projects.

IHUs are future centers of excellence in healthcare research, care, prevention, training and technology transfer.

Within a limited geographical area and focusing on a specific theme, each IHU aims to:

  • Enable experimentation with new care and prevention methods;
  • Train outstanding professionals in the fields of healthcare and R&D;
  • Promote cultural change by fostering partnerships, particularly between the public and private sectors.

As for RespirERA (respiratory health, environment and ageing), its aim is to improve care in the field of respiratory diseases. The 3IA Côte d'Azur is one of the research organizations involved in this project, particularly in the development of AI assistance for the early diagnosis, treatment decisions and real-time therapeutic monitoring.
