Serena Villata, 3IA Côte d'Azur Chairholder, at Curiosity Club Nice on March 24
Women and Artificial Intelligence: research, innovation and impact. An exceptional evening on the careers of women in scientific research under the great dome of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur!
The Curiosity Club Nice is delighted to welcome Serena Villata, director of research at the CNRS, chairholder at 3IA Côte d'Azur and head of an Inria team, for an inspiring conference...
Deciphering language to counter misinformation...
A specialist in automatic natural language processing, Serena explores how AI can explain automatic decisions and combat misinformation, cyberbullying and hate speech. Her work focuses on analysing online debates and natural language explanations to help patients better understand medical diagnoses.
A woman in a man's world
She will talk about her career in an environment where women in management positions are still rare. She will talk frankly about the challenges linked to parity, in particular the demands for representation quotas, sometimes to the detriment of scientific skills.
At the head of the Marianne project team
A project dedicated to automatic language processing, with a predominantly female team selected above all for their expertise. The project tackles major challenges such as detecting hate speech, analysing political debate and identifying fake news.
Through concrete examples, Serena VILLATA will demonstrate how AI can play a key role in building a healthier and fairer space for exchanges.
